What is Fasting?

Fasting is the willing, abstinence or reduction from some or all food, drink, or both, for a period of time. A detox or fast whether it is a full juice fast, raw fruits & vegetables, or an herbal tea detox, encourages your body to expel any built-up toxins you are harboring in your organs and tissues. When done correctly the diet will stimulate your liver, kidney, and colon-which are the primary organs for removing toxins from your body,  and increase their efficiency and effectiveness during the detox, as well as after the detox has been completed.

When you fast, several things happen in your body on the cellular and molecular level. For example, your body adjusts hormone levels to make stored body fat more accessible. Your cells also initiate important repair processes and change the expression of genes.

Fasts Durations:

Fasting is a proven way to re-set your body’s biological clock and heal yourself from many different ailments. It allows your body to expel toxic waste and cells that were built by an unhealthy diet. There are various durations for different types of fasts. Depending on the fasting method that you choose, you want to focus only consuming the drink(s) and/or foods that are specific to your fast for the specified amount of time. It is highly recommend that you also take cleansing herbs, which help to accelerate healing and adds nutrients to the body.

Short Fast: An occasional fast that lasts from 24-36 hours. A short fast allows you to move gently into the discipline of a longer fast.

Intermittent Fast: Involves alternating cycles of eating and fasting. There are several different methods of intermittent fasting, all of which split the day or week into eating periods and fasting periods.

Extended Fast: A fast that lasts for a month or longer, and is very effective in detoxification, improving mental health, combating obesity, increasing the body’s ability to heal itself, promoting healthy skin, protecting heart health, and rejuvenating the body.
