Gold sea moss offers all the numerous health and beauty benefits of sea moss and is commonly used for purposes related to heart disease, diabetes, bad cholesterol, thyroid dysfunction, weight loss, gut health, immunity, energy, hair growth, skin problems, and many others.

Purple sea moss is usually found in warmer waters. Its color comes from the high content of anthocyanins. These powerful antioxidants from the flavonoid family are the ones that give the blue or purple color to fruits and vegetables like currants, raspberries, blueberries, grapes, plums, red onions, etc.

The color and shade of purple sea moss vary considerably according to the anthocyanins’ concentration. It may sometimes look red or pink. Purple sea moss is less common than gold sea moss and might not always be easy to find. It requires delicate storage conditions and must be dried in a dark room to keep its color and benefits.

Purple sea moss is an algae that grows in the sea on top of rocks, and is naturally purple in color. Golden Irish moss is easily available and most popularly consumed, but sea moss naturally grows in different colors that can include greenish-yellow sea moss, red sea moss, dark purple sea moss, and purplish-brown sea moss. Each pigment of sea moss carries its own beneficial phytochemicals. For example, purple plants in nature are highly concentrated in pure, raw iron fluorine, so it is best to rotate your Irish moss intake between the golden and purple variations in order to obtain the most benefits from the nutrient-dense sea vegetable.

The antioxidant that produces the pigment in our Purple Irish Moss is called anthocyanin, which serves as a protectant for the plant from sunlight damage, cold temperatures, and other stressors. Anthocyanins are water-soluble vacuolar pigments that, depending on their pH, may appear red, purple, blue or black. When we eat food with this purple color, we in turn receive the same benefits.

Purple sea moss gel has a thicker consistency than golden sea moss, making it more gelatinous in texture, which is a perfect thickener for jello, puddings, soups and stews. Purple sea moss cannot only boost the immune system, in addition to the same benefits as Golden Sea Moss, but it can also help to improve vision.

Description

Ingredients:

Raw Natural Sea Moss from the islands of St. Lucia. No fillers, additives, chemicals or artificial ingredients.

Sea moss in its raw form is a tough, stringy red, yellow, or purple algae that grows up to six inches high on rocks in tidal pools along the northern Atlantic. Because it grows on rocks, it absorbs many of the minerals and other key nutrients from the rocks themselves. This tasteless seaweed is loaded with life-enhancing nutrients. It contains vitamins A, C, E, K, B1, and B12. Being incredibly nutritious, it became known throughout Europe and the Caribbean as the super food of the sea.

The human body is made up of 102 minerals and Irish Moss contains 92 of them. It also provides a wealth of other important nutrients including; protein, beta-carotene, pectin, and Sulphur. One of the most important of these nutrients is a Sulphur-containing amino acid called taurine, which is more abundant in sea moss than any other algae, and a nutrient that is commonly lacking in vegan diets. It is an excellent immune boosting food that can be invaluable in the recovery from debilitating illness. Its high vitamin and mineral content make it the perfect food to replenish and revitalize the body. The benefits of sea moss most commonly include: Fights iron deficiency, dissolves mucus, improves mental health, reduces effects of radiation, aids in weight loss. Its rich source of vegetable protein provides a full spectrum of beta-carotene chlorophyll, enzymes, and fiber. Because of its high iodine content, Sea Moss is helpful to the glandular system. Sea Moss can reduce ulcers and is very useful as a reducing aid by eliminating extra body fluids. It’s mucilaginous in nature, so it absorbs toxins from the bowels, provides bulk to the stool and soothes inflamed tissues.

Sea moss is also known to cure various skin diseases such as dermatitis, psoriasis, and sunburn. The moss can be applied topically or added to baths to moisturize and hydrate the skin. You can apply the gel directly to your skin for a mini face lift as it can help to hydrate dry skin, prevent varicose veins, rashes, and inflammation. Sea Moss Gel can also be used in food as a thickener for soups, sauces and dressings.
